The "Hutung am Giegert" is located about 1 km north of the Ergersheim district of Seenheim and borders the deciduous forest area of the Kehrenberg. The approx. 39 hectare nature reserve is dominated by striking evergreen juniper bushes, some of which alternate island-like with pine trees and small meadows and fields.
The juniper heaths are old municipal guarding areas that are still grazed regularly with sheep today. The area is bordered by sloe hedges, which provide a valuable habitat for hedge-breeding bird species such as the great gray shrike and red-backed shrike.
The Hutung lies on a gently undulating slope and is criss-crossed with numerous earth paths, on which visitors can discover a varied landscape.
