Hiking

The castle Freienstein was first mentioned in 1297. Who has built the castle exactly, is still unclear. Around 1890, the shield wall was secured with a tie rod and demolished in 1938 by three meters. Further security measures took place 1906-14, nevertheless collapsed the wall in 1988 for the most part. In 1990-94 there was an extensive restoration of the outer walls.
