Through the marriage of Heinrich Rudolf v. S. (441) with Erdmuthe Dorothea von Fullen, Störmthal came into our family in 1737.
Johann Hilmar Adolf, who was raised to the rank of imperial count in 1788, lived on Störmthal and lies in a crypt in the annex to the church of Störmthal.
In 1824 the castle was sold by Count Adolf Schönfeld (450), who went to Austria.
