Beautiful old post mill in the middle of Speckenbüttler Park.

At the entrance to Speckenbüttel Park, a replica of a Leher post mill stands on a hill. It was built in 1984-86 based on an old model by the Dutch mill builder Molema.

The farmhouse association had already moved a post mill from Nordleda there in 1935, but it burned down in 1941, caused by children who broke in and set fire to the hay they had collected. The same fate befell its successor, a Dutch mill from Holßel, which was destroyed in 1983 by a fire caused by New Year's Eve rockets.

The current post mill has a housing (grinding box) that is mounted on a wooden trestle so that the windmill blades can always be turned in the prevailing wind direction. The inside of the housing can be reached via a staircase that leads over the rear cod end, which supports the housing and on which the mill can be turned. The bagging floor is located on the lower level of the grinding box, and the impeller shaft with the pinion wheel is located on the upper level, from which the horizontal rotation is diverted vertically and drives the runner stone of the grinding gear. There is a bagging winch on the rear of the mill.
