Often referred to as a "concrete lid". The square is a project of the Kunst-am-Bau program: the playable landscape sculpture is intended to connect the residential areas on both sides.
The concrete bridge over the Munich-Rosenheim railway line caused resentment as early as the construction phase, as its fragile statics did not allow for greening with trees, heavy playground equipment or large sand play areas. The wishes of local residents could therefore only be taken into account to a limited extent.

The idea for the artistic design of the railway cover, a 300 meter long and 50 meter wide concrete slab above the Munich-Rosenheim railway line, was a spatially implemented journey - from the beach to the mountains. Originally, a sandy landscape was planned as a shifting dune, which could not be realized. This turned into an artificial dune landscape. The building department calls it a playable "landscape sculpture" that would give the residential area an unmistakable identity. - The square actually sets a strong visual accent in the quarter. Even after several visits over the years, the everyday use seems small compared to the effort involved.
Planning: Topotek 1 landscape architects with Rosemarie Trockel, completion 2010.
