The first town hall was built between 1599 and 1601.
In 1693 the town hall burned down to the stone Renaissance substructure.
From 1716 it was rebuilt on the old foundations as a half-timbered building by the Württemberg architect Johann Ulrich Heim.

The Town Hall of Backnang from the perspective of Bandhaus Theater Backnang. Just like many buildings Backnangs it is a beautifully preserved half-timbered house from 1716. However, the town hall itself still stands on the foundation from the year 1599. The town hall has a characteristic bell tower. On the marketplace itself is still one of the once three old town hall fountain.
