Best Hikes to Strohwollner Gorge

Tips

  • The Strohwollner Gorge in St. Martin near Lofer is one of the most picturesque gorges in the Saalach Valley. The short hike offers impressive natural experiences: first the water thunders over the rocks before the torrent calms down and flows gently further down the valley. Especially on warm summer days, the gorge is pleasantly cool due to its shady location and is therefore a popular destination for families with children aged 4 and over. The round trip takes around 30 minutes, although a longer hike to the Scheffsnother Alm or further to the Hundshorn is also possible.
