From up here you can already see Riesa to the north, and from a certain angle even the striking Collmberg; when looking to the right, the Nünchritz chemical plant first catches the eye. Behind it, the Heideberg extends north of Großenhain with the characteristic tower.

The Eckardsberg was once part of the triangular network of the Royal Saxon Triangulation. Today the summit is closed and the station column no longer exists.
