Structure with a single archway, built in squared limestone ashlars, with barrel vault inside; the central part has a two-pitched roof. The façade facing Piazza Marconi has a boss facing, with a coat of arms on the arch key; another coat of arms is visible on the lintel of the façade facing Piazza Cavour.
On the pinnacle of the door there is the sculpture of the Immaculate Conception, at the base of which is engraved: "Posuerunt me custodem". Lower down is the clock compartment, in place of the patrol chimney of which you can see the battery of the slits. At the corners there are eighteenth-century acroteria. The internal façade has robust ashlar pilasters.

The Porta Baresana in Bitonto was rebuilt in the seventeenth century and is a Renaissance style door that leads to Bari
      Porta Baresana in Bitonto
Once the gate was connected to the walls and was therefore part of the defensive system of the city of Bitonto. Originally this monumental door was called Porta della marina because it was facing the former marina of Bitonto, Santo Spirito.
On the façade of the door there is the Statue of the Immaculate Conception of 1834, and a little further down there is a clock added in the twentieth century and the emblem of the Savoy that replaced that of the city.
The passage of the door is formed by a round arch with ashlar pilasters on the sides.
The rear façade is similar to the external face but with plinths at the base of the pilasters.
