The Gruebi (Pilgrim shelter, Gruebi, from the Swiss German verb "gruebe" = rest) is a place where pilgrims drop their stones. A few hundred meters further on is the pilgrim shelter, which used to house the place of execution of Einsiedeln and the chapel (Galgenchappeli), where the condemned received the last blessing before the execution.
