      Text of the information panel:

Traces of the Revolution. Thirty-three workers were buried at this site in April 1920. They were members of the "Red Ruhr Army" who were shot by Reichswehr and Freikorps soldiers near the Lippe Bridge near Haltern at the end of the March Revolution. From 1925 onwards, the memorial service at the gravesite was replaced by political commemorative events organized by communist groups. In 1931, they also laid the memorial plaque, the original of which can be seen in the Ruhr Museum in Essen. The popular name "Spartacist Grave" is a result of this culture of remembrance.

Inscription on the memorial stone (as far as legible):

YOU ARE VICTIM / FALLEN IN THE FIGHT / FOR FREEDOM AND JUSTICE / HERE REST 34 WORKERS FALLEN IN THE / KAPP PUTSCH 1920

The significance of this mass grave is not undisputed, see waz.de/staedte/vest/article7636469/arbeitermassengrab-in-der-haard.html
