The Rechberg near Olk is known for its orchid deposits.
The approximately 48 hectare area was placed under nature protection in 1986 under the code 7235-002. The protection purpose is the preservation of the Rechberg with its species-rich limestone lawn, bushes and mixed deciduous forest formations. These biotopes are the habitat of warmth-loving animal and plant communities with numerous rare, endangered species, especially orchids and insects.
