Coming from Trebur at the entrance to Astheim, you pass two special features:

The baroque parish church "St. Petrus in Ketten" with the half-timbered house is a real gem in the village. The church was built in 1651 and has many art treasures inside. In 1774 the building was changed. The discontinued west tower with pointed helmet is from the previous church from an older time around 1502 ... 🚴‍

The oldest half-timbered house in Alt-Astheim is right in front of the church. According to the chronological investigation, the wood was felled in 1616 and construction of the house began in 1617. Due to the same construction method, conclusions can be drawn about another old framework from 1773 opposite the church ...…
