The so-called "soul path" in the immediate vicinity of the Ederquelle is a nice alternative to the parallel gravel road.
Personally, I don't think so much of the exaggerated opinion that the forest has a special effect on our soul. I believe more in an old book.

Update summer 2022:
The forest has been largely cleared. The bark beetle has taken its toll.

The first section, from the source of the Eder, is walkable and beautiful! When the junction to the main path comes in the direction of the "Ederquelle" car park - take it! Because then the soul path is lost in the clearing area ... !!! At least for the time being until it's cleaned up ...
