Canazei is a lively town located southwest of the Sella Group. It is an excellent starting point for hiking and mountain biking as well as for undertaking the famous Sellaronda, also known as the Giro dei Quattro Passi.

Canazei (Ladin Cianacèi) is a municipality with 1908 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2015) in Val di Fassa in Trentino (province of Trento) in Italy. It is a tourist resort for both winter and summer tourism.
Canazei is a junction of the Dolomite passes (four-pass ride around the Sellastock (Sellaronda)). From Canazei the Pordoijoch leads into the valley of Arabba, the Sella Pass to Selva di Val Gardena. You can also reach Passo Fedaia Malga Ciapela, Rocca Pietore and Alleghe in the province of Belluno (Veneto Region).

The Pordoi Pass (Italian Passo Pordoi, Fassaisch-Ladin Jouf de Pordoi, stone-Ladin Jou de Pordou) is with a peak height of 2239 m s.l.m. the second highest mountain pass in the Dolomites of Italy with a paved road. It connects Canazei in Val di Fassa (Italian Val di Fassa, Fassa-Ladin fascia), province of Trentino with the valley of Buchenstein (district Arabba) / Veneto.
