The Gurgltal and its side valleys used to be an important mining area in Tyrol. The Knappenwelt is a reminder of this today, where you can learn how the ore mineral was separated from the unusable stone. Here you can observe how mining was practiced in the 16th century using true-to-scale and functional systems.
