The Hammering Plain is the area around the DSV center. Not to be confused with the Röthengrund. This begins in Sonneberg's old town at the "Grundmühle" and ends at the Röthenquelle or the Hämmerer Ebene.

Many hiking trails start from Hammere Ebene. Parking spaces are available. In winter (when there is enough snow) you can do great cross-country skiing.
