    13/93, 1993, Stahl, Erich Hauser.

"The sculpture "13/93" is one of Erich Hauser's late works, which works with crystalline, broken triangular shapes, whose vertical and sideways drifting tips rise into the sky. However, the apparent splitting into individual geometric shapes does not lead to a fragmentation of the basic structure, but to a unity staged by light. The prismatic dissection of the body is reminiscent of the cubist style at the beginning of the 20th century. In his sculptures, however, Erich Hauser succeeds in doing more than simply transferring these formal ideas into the sculptural; rather, his sculptures, which are supported by a spatial rhythm, are all-view surface figures as independent further developments. The neutral surface - the polished steel, in contrast to the early work, shows no traces of processing - does not allow the viewer to be distracted and confronts him directly with Hauser's artistic intention. At the same time, the play of light and shadow gives the viewer a lasting impression the steel plates lightness and makes the sculpture appear like an iron foldable or a minerally grown structure. As one of the most important German sculptors, Erich Hauser played a significant role in the development of plastic art after 1960, both as a pioneer through his unmistakable independence and through his inimitable "craftsmanship" quality. Initially, he used industrially prefabricated steel plates for his sculptures, which he made flexible by partially heating them and welded them together using the assembly principle. While this work is formally reminiscent of vegetative, organically grown forms, the sculptures of the following years are predominantly based on geometric shapes. Since the 1970s, Hauser has increasingly broken down the basic geometric shapes and created origami-like steel structures in the interplay of elementary forces with a dynamic that extends into space."
