This is a beautiful section of the Usk Valley Walk, as you ascend from Talybont onto trails across Bryn's north eastern slopes. When the trees clear, you are afforded sublime views back down onto the Usk Valley and beyond towards the Black Mountains. From here, it takes about an hour to hike to Bryn's 1,831-foot (558 m) summit.
