The cast-iron monument designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel for the fallen soldiers of the battle is one of seven similar types of battles from 1813 and 1815. The inscription reads: "The fallen heroes gratefully honor their king and fatherland. They rest in peace. Grossgörschen, 2nd May 1813 ". The dilapidated original stood on the monarch hill near Grossgörschen, where now only the pedestal with an inscription is. The current replica was erected in 1985 near the Scharnhorst monument.
