The house was built during the Austro-Hungarian period when there was a boom in construction and craftsmanship in Sarajevo, which was further intensified by the adoption of new building codes from 1893. The new building ordinance builds on the building ordinance, the first building ordinance of the new government from 1880. The building was owned by "ddo Sarajevo" from 1905 and ownership changed in 1935. During the First and Second World Wars and in the intervening period there were no damages. The heirs of the owners, however, stayed two-story during the last war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992, the house was slightly damaged. After 1995 the building was abandoned with the exception of the residential unit on the ground floor and the deterioration of the roof structure and the north facade is visible.

The city stretches west-east on the Sarajevo plain in the midst of the Dinaric Mountains. The Miljacka River flows through the town; the Bosna rises west of the city in the municipality of Ilidža from a karst spring. The plain is surmounted by the mountains of Bjelašnica and Igman in the south-west and Jahorina and Trebević in the south-east.

The city center is 511 meters above sea level. The suburbs reach up to over 900 meters. The mountains around the city are mostly forested and up to 2,000 meters high.
