Hengelhoef visitor center in Houthalen-Helchteren is the ideal base to explore the Hengelhoef nature reserve and the nearby heath areas Teut and Ten Haagdoornheide (ANB). In and around the visitor center, a renovated Kempen half-timbered house, you can experience former life on the heath. Enjoy a delicious drink in a natural setting! Various 'nature fun' activities are organized every month. You can also start various walking routes from the visitor center. The Hengelhoef visitor center of Limburgs Landschap vzw is open during walks and activities from 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM. From March 6 to October 31, 2024 it is also open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday afternoon. Every time from 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM. In July and August it is also open on Tuesday afternoons.

The former forester's house was set up as a visitor center for nature association Limburgs Landschap vzw.
It is the ideal location for a day out with the family.
Here you can enjoy nature, a delicious and honest drink and experience the old life on the heath.
