The street runs from the railway just outside the village to De Peel. During wartime, the three families lived on this street: Poels, Smedts and Geurts. A lot happened on the Zwarte Plak during the Second World War. Many Limburg Jews and allied pilots went into hiding with the three families. It was a sparsely populated street at the time and farms were hundreds of meters apart.
