A romantic avenue of birch trees with old wayside shrines leads from Bad Königshofen through the meadows of the Saale to Ipthausen. The pretty little church, which was rebuilt between 1746 and 1754 in the Rococo style, is considered "one of the most beautiful village churches in Franconia". The quiet little church owes its great popularity above all to the magnificent ceiling painting by Georg Anton Urlaub, which unmistakably shows the influence of the famous Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo reveals.
