The Evangelische Laurentiuskrche is a listed church building in Niedermittlau, a district of Hasselroth in the Main-Kinziu district in Hesse.

The square church tower was built in 1030. The nave was renovated in 1780 using spoils from the previous building because it was badly damaged in the Thirty Years' War. In the east, the nave has a tail gable. The church tower has sound arcades made of biforia on the top floor, behind which the belfry is located.

the Eve Laurentiuskirche is located in Niedermittlau, a district of Hasselroth.

If you follow the main road through Niedermittlau, you will pass the rather inconspicuous stone church with the stepped gable. The church was named after Laurentius, the 3rd-century martyr who distributed church treasures to the poor. The fact that you are looking at one of the oldest church buildings in the Kinzig Valley only becomes apparent at second glance, because the nave was rebuilt in 1780 after the previous building had been built e.g. had suffered severe damage in the 30-year war.

For centuries, the Laurentiuskirche was the parish church of the parish of Niedermittlau, to which the communities of Niedermittlau, Gondsroth, Neuenhaßlau, Hailer and Meerholz belonged - Hailer and Meerholz were separated into a separate parish in 1744 after the castle church in Meerholz had been opened to the population.

The oldest part of the church is undoubtedly the church tower, which stands out due to a stone mask. A lion relief found on the east side of the tower (probably a reference to the Counts of Selbold) indicates that it was built in Frankish times - it is dated to the year 1030. The Romanesque sound openings in the tower, which used to be plastered, are still preserved. Originally, the tower was probably also a protective and defensive tower that was supposed to protect the Sälzerweg, which led from Bad Orb to Seligenstadt on the Main.

The Protestant Laurentius Church, which is well worth seeing, was built in 1780. The church tower comes from a previous building and was built in 1030. The organ was installed in 1885.
