The six-meter-high Oudemirdumerklif formed during the penultimate ice age, when Scandinavian ice sheets pushed up the land, leaving boulders in their wake. The Zuiderzee's wave action ultimately formed three cliffs in Gaasterland.The site is home to some 200 plant species. Badgers and numerous waterfowl also live here.

"Cliff" is a strong word, but it's a lovely place to relax with a beautiful view of the IJsselmeer. Geologically very interesting, of course.
