Bike Touring Highlight
The Maisinger See was already created by monks in the 17th century. To this day, a bog biotope has arisen in this place, where many native birds have found a home. The reed growth favored a silting of the lake, so that today only a fraction of the once much larger body of water is left. The size of the original water landscape can therefore only be guessed.
The lake can also be easily walked on foot. The approximately 5 km long round is very well suited for families with children, as well as the entire way can be used with a stroller.
Due to the small depth of the lake (about 2 m), the water heats up quickly in the summer and is ideal for swimming, in winter, the waters freeze quickly and attracts a lot of winter sports. The Seenahen parking lots are in any case very good year-round, v.a. by visitors from the Munich area.
