Because the beer garden is just great, and the lake a dream.

The Maisinger See was created by monks as early as the 17th century. A bog biotope has developed at this location to this day, where many native birds have found a home. The growth of reeds favored silting up of the lake, so that today only a fraction of the once much larger body of water is left. The size of the original water landscape can therefore only be guessed at.
The lake can also easily be hiked around on foot. The approximately 5 km long circuit is very suitable for families with children, as the entire route can also be used with a pram.
Due to the low depth of the lake (approx. 2 m), the water warms up quickly in summer and is ideal for swimming, in winter the water freezes over quickly and attracts a lot of winter sports enthusiasts. In any case, the parking lots near the lake are very well occupied all year round, especially by visitors from the Munich area.
