A passage through a very beautiful nature is worthwhile here in any case.

On Saturday afternoon (May 23rd, 2020) I drove through the Maisinger Gorge with the MTB after a heavy rain (Starnberg -> Maisinger See). The gorge path was swept clean by hikers. From time to time I met mountain bikers who probably hadn't found a shelter before and were completely soaked. When I drove here for the first time over 10 years ago, it was, like today, always a hiking trail that was also used by cyclists. Only nowadays, gravel bikers, e-bikers, power walkers (Nordic walking) and also family groups with small children join. The gorge is overflowing on beautiful sunny days and it is not much fun for bikers to ride the slalom course at a slow pace. But if you can't avoid driving the gorge at peak times, you should always treat the other visitors to the gorge with respect and friendliness.

For cyclists rather less suitable. The path is designed for walkers and much too short for a bike ride. As a summer or winter walk but absolutely recommended.

Fantastic little gorge with a shared hiking and cycling path, right on the stream. Many families on the go.

Important to always respect children here. For young families, an unforgettable, safe spot to play

Know the gorge very well from many trips. Not recommended on weekends when the weather is good, as the gorge is then crossed by countless pedestrians, hiking groups, families and hikers with dogs. If it cannot be avoided, e.g. via Söcking in the north or Pöcking in the south, then drive slowly and carefully.

Of course it's true that there are many hikers and walkers here. I just think that we cyclists can ride here with the same right. And pedestrians should also be considerate, not just cyclists. The path is really wide enough at 1 to 3 meters.

I find it terrible when people are cycling through this beautiful area. I find this way not suitable for cyclists. And that this is still published and then drive even more people through, it only makes it worse

We also ran a year ago. We liked the path very much. The peace and quiet and the beautiful nature! In Maising in the beer garden we had a snack with a cool light.
This way there and back is worth it!

Wonderful piece through a dreamlike canyon landscape. No technical challenge. However, especially on nice days, you should be considerate of the many hikers.I have also integrated the Maisinger Schlucht in a longer round to the Andechs Monastery, more on my website: adventtour.net/post/masinger-schlucht-kloster-andechs-und-bayrisches-voralpenland-mit -the-mountain bike
