The Singliser See is an "artificial" lake created by brown coal mining. After the end of brown coal mining, the area was recultivated and rising groundwater formed the beautiful lake.

Well, a few years ago it was still wonderful to go swimming there with the dogs - everything has now been deleted, yes you can still hike there.... the lake is great. But not for us anymore.
