Former lock chamber (length 28 m), today traffic lock, 2013 new building. The lock marks the transition from the unpaved upper reaches of the Alster to the canalized lower reaches.

By 2011, the Fuhlsbüttel lock completed in 1914 was still a proper lock, i. she still had a lock chamber. But that was getting old and in the end no longer stable. Until 2013, the conversion to the pure weir system which regulates the water level of the Upper Alster lasted. A new fish ladder with a so-called meandering fish pass has been built, which creates different flow conditions in a confined space through offset small pools, which can be used by fish for ascent.
As early as 2000, a hydropower plant with a rated output of 110 kW had been installed.
