The Trinity Column was commissioned by Freiherr Johann Bernhard von Francken (the younger), conference minister and envoy from the Electoral Palatinate to the Perpetual Diet of Regensburg, and was completed in 1737.
The group of figures is about 450 meters south-east of Pirkensee Castle in the Ponholz forest "Alte Buche". It is a square pedestal with an alliance coat of arms, above which is a group of figures of the Holy Trinity with an inscription and a cross crowned with doves.
