The best way to experience the Saalach Au is on foot or by bike, it is worthwhile at any time of the year because you are constantly on the water and therefore the air is very good, especially in summer it is particularly easy to endure there because it is pleasantly cool and is shady in the alluvial forest. The Marzoller Au is Germany's southernmost, still preserved, lowland forest remnant. It is located north of the city of Bad Reichenhall on the Saalach River. ... Furthermore, the Au serves the citizens of Bad Reichenhall as a local recreation area.
