" Dorsten on the Lippe and Wesel-Datteln Canal and directly on the Römer-Lippe-Route can boast both a flourishing medieval history and an impressive industrial culture. Despite severe destruction in the last war and many new construction measures, the city's more than 750-year-old history is still visible The course of the city wall is recognizable, a defense tower and some remains mark the former fortress wall.
