Zignone is a plateau at an altitude of approximately 500 meters above sea level, located in the north-eastern part of Carcina, in the municipality of Villa Carcina. This area is known for its natural cavities, including the "Sor Alever" and the Zignone well, as well as for prehistoric finds such as a Neolithic flint point and Bronze Age ceramic fragments discovered in 1800. Legend has it that is the place of birth and breastfeeding of the SS. Faustino and Giovita, the patron saints of Brescia, as represented in a canvas by Francesco Paglia in the church of Pregno.
