Sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella

The Sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella is located on the top of Mount Selva.
It is a place of worship very dear to the three parishes of Cellatica, San Vigilio di Concesio and Gussago but culturally dependent on the parish of Cellatica.
An austere construction designed by a military engineer, it looks out over the Po Valley where you can enjoy a vast landscape. On clear days you can see Monte Rosa with its snow-capped chain.

It is said that on May 31, 1536, the Madonna appeared to a deaf-mute shepherd from Gardone Val Trompia, intent on grazing his sheep in the hills between San Vigilio and Cellatica.
The shepherd received the order from the Madonna to invite the inhabitants of the surrounding villages to dedicate a place of worship to her in that place, and as a reward he regained the use of the word.
