n the middle of the more than 700 ha large forest of Landgoed Geijsteren is the historical national monument "de Rosmolen". This distinctive water mill dates back to 1667 and is still regularly used to grind grain. Contrary to what the name suggests, the mill is not a real horse mill. The name comes from a nearby farm that included a horse mill, a mill powered by a horse or steed. After it burned down in 1863, the name was transferred to this watermill. Until around 1930, the mill was mainly used to grind grain from the farmers in the area for the bakers from Geijsteren and Oostrum.
