Omegna, a town of over 15,000 inhabitants in the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, is located at the northern end of Lake Orta, the most romantic of the Italian lakes. A decidedly fascinating stretch of water of glacial origin, one of the smallest and most characteristic in Northern Italy, with a length of 13 km and a maximum width of 1.5 km.

Nice viewpoint from the top of Lake Orta. Lake Maggiore is easily reached from Omegna by going in the direction of Verbania. The proximity of Mottarone, a typical destination for cyclists in the area, should also be emphasized
