This Paulushofje was founded by Julius Nobelaer. An aunt of his wife donated the money for the courtyard in her will. 13 poor women can be accommodated there.

The Sint Paulushofje on the Markt is a resting point in the center of Etten-Leur. It was founded in 1681 and has thirteen houses around a square with a beautiful water pump in the middle. After passing the historic entrance gate, the visitor feels like he has gone back centuries in time. The courtyard was originally intended to house thirteen poor women.The Art of Living (regional museum) is located in part of the Sint Paulushofje, the entire rear wing. The other buildings are still inhabited.The courtyard is free to enter.
