Wuppertal is polycentric, is mostly in an elongated, narrow valley and is not a normal city either. Since August 12, 2009, a memorial / explanatory plaque has been commemorating this, which was set up on the occasion of the summer hiking talks with Mayor Peter Jung. It marks the geographical center of the city; in the middle of the Barmer Wald at the end of the Buschstrasse.
