Wuppertal is polycentric, is mostly in an elongated, narrow valley and is not a normal city either. Since August 12, 2009, a memorial / explanatory plaque has been commemorating this, which was set up on the occasion of the summer hiking talks with Mayor Peter Jung. It marks the geographical center of the city; in the middle of the Barmer Wald at the end of the Buschstrasse.

    Geographic coordinates:
    Eastern longitude: 7 ° 10 ′ 08.24 ″
    north latitude: 51 ° 15 ′ 02.97 ″

    UTM coordinates (ETRS 89):
    Legal value: 32372215.0
    High value: 5679310.7

Height above sea level: 236.3 meters.
