The Stoote estate is located in the south of Radevormwald on the city limits of Wipperfürth and Hückeswagen on the Bevertalsperre. The Erlenbach flows into the Erlenbach pre-dam of the Bevertalsperre. District road 1 runs over the dam of this barrier.

A part of the local area of Stoote disappeared under the water level with the completed expansion of the Bevertalsperre in 1938.

In the same year a new well house was built in Stoote above the future water level at today's Kreisstraße 11. The new well shaft was connected to the old system by a 100 m long transverse tunnel and the old transverse tunnel was extended by another 70 m.
