The Stoote estate is located in the south of Radevormwald on the city limits of Wipperfürth and Hückeswagen on the Bevertalsperre. The Erlenbach flows into the Erlenbach pre-dam of the Bevertalsperre. District road 1 runs over the dam of this barrier.A part of the local area of Stoote disappeared under the water level with the completed expansion of the Bevertalsperre in 1938.In the same year a new well house was built in Stoote above the future water level at today's Kreisstraße 11. The new well shaft was connected to the old system by a 100 m long transverse tunnel and the old transverse tunnel was extended by another 70 m.
