In 1848 the extensive castle park was laid out by Graf von derdecke on the site of the monks' old fish ponds. The park is open to the public and looks as enchanted as the castle, which has fallen into a deep slumber. During a walk you can discover different elements in the English style:
an artificially created ruin, an obelisk on the pond island, the large bridge with a romantic view and the gate on Wallmodener Strasse, which is crowned with balls.
