In the Scheunenviertel you can see buildings that were built around 1600/1700. Since 2012 there has been an information barn where visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the district. The "Dat Schünenviertel" association takes care of this in particular. More information is available here: bit.ly/3g1HohE.

Scheunenviertel are special gems of rural building culture.

The Scheunenviertel in the Petershagen district of Schlüsselburg, which still exists today, is a rural cultural asset of supraregional importance. The oldest of the 26 barns that still exist today can be dated to around 1600-1700. The "Humbke", the highest point in the area, was chosen as the location. In addition to numerous floods from various Weser floods in historical times, a noticeable number of fires also destroyed the place. The Scheunenviertel is mostly privately owned. A barn renovated in 2012 now serves as an information barn and provides information about the Scheunenviertel and the work of the "Dat Schünenviertel" association.

Scheunenviertel are special gems of rural building culture. For fear of devastating fires, most of the barns were built outside of villages between 1700 and 1800 and provided space for storage and shelter. Today the individual Scheunenviertel offer space for a wide variety of uses.

Never seen so many barns in one place. Worth seeing. The rest area is also great for taking a break when it's hot or raining 👍🤗. Maybe you'll find something in the bookcase.
