Entrance to Mariazell

Pilgrims take the route from Lunz am See over the Zellerrain. Especially on the last 6 km of the 23 km long drive to the top of the pass, they have the opportunity to atone for some of their sins. The crisp 13% increase is particularly tough.In Mariazell, the pilgrimage church and the grotto are worth visiting. Both Catholics and Protestants get their money's worth. The former because the luminosity of the many candles and the golden altar of Mary convey something magical to them and the latter because they get an impression of the marketing power emanating from the Christian-Catholic faith. The whole place lives on it.

The whole place has a special charm.

Mariazell is always worth a visit, I think. Sitting in the sun on the main square for a while, maybe drinking a coffee. Wonderful.
