Location: Frohburg, Landkreis Leipzig, Saxony, Germany
Beautiful natural area with a great view of the clear water. In the middle are two small man-made islands that are home to many species of birds. You can go hiking and cycling there. In addition to the Great Pond, there are other smaller ones in the immediate vicinity.

The European bird sanctuary and nature reserve Eschefelder Teiche is located in Frohburg, idyllically between fields and wooded areas. Well over 100 bird species live in the centuries-old landscape of 525 hectares. The ponds, once created by monks and used for fishing, are an important breeding and resting area for many bird species, some of which are endangered. Since 1912 observations have been recorded in pond diaries. 1967 designation as a nature reserve. Since 1996, nature lovers of all ages have been meeting at the nature conservation station to exchange ideas and start nature discovery tours.
