Depressing ruin of a wonderful Baroque palace built in C17. In 1803 the then owner, Karl Rudolph von Lestwitz died heirless and donated his estate including the building to the Lutheran Virgins Association, dedicated to education of young local women. It continued to thrive in Tchirnau (Czernina) until WWII and January 1945 when the Red Army rampaged the city. During the communist regime it continued to fall apart until it reached its current tragic state.

A beautifully situated castle on the water. Its beginnings date back to the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. Jan z Czerniny, the castellan of Międzyrzecz, is considered the founder of the brick seat. Initially, it was probably a defensive knight's seat.
