The most beautiful point in Σφακιανό Φαράγγι is the Agios Pavlos Chapel on a small hill between two arms of the gorge. On the downhill stretch, the actual gorge begins below, but it is relatively unspectacular and essentially represents a scree stream that is partly densely forested and rather difficult to traverse. If you continue uphill from here to Niato / Tavris, you first have to cope with a smaller, steep gorge, in which in 2021 numerous fallen trees and buried markings will make it difficult to progress.
