Formerly located outside the walls, it was rebuilt within the Old City in the first half of the 17th century. The convent was enlarged around 1726, but the church was almost completely demolished, conserving only the Remedios and Rosario chapels. It has a Latin cross plan, with a nave with a larger arm, covered with a barrel vault with a glass dome in the transept and three facing chapels. The exterior wall of the head of the chapel or presbytery conserves a Romanesque-Gothic tympanum, with the Virgin and Child seated, from one of the roofs of the original church.

The convent of San Domingos is a convent of the Dominican order located in the old city of A Coruña, in Galicia. It was built during the 13th century. It was destroyed by the English in 1589 and finally rebuilt in the 17th century with its current appearance.

This is the baroque church belonging to the Santo Domingo Convent, built on the remains of a previous church destroyed by the English in 1589, and has been open to the faithful since 1613. The building, which has a floor plan in the shape of a Passion Cross, consists of a single nave, which corresponds to the longer arm of the cross, and has a barrel vault with lunettes, a dome over the crossing and three chapels in the front area. In 1663 the Capilla de los Remedios was built and shortly afterwards the Capilla del Rosario, which is dedicated to the patron saint of the city. On the outside of the front wall of the main chapel or presbytery there is a Romanesque pointed arch panel depicting the seated Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, an image that comes from one of the facades of the original church.
