We drove down a very nice road today (but it's officially forbidden). Unfortunately, access to the D8 is blocked off with crash barriers. It wasn't possible for us to heave our heavy pedelecs and luggage over the crash barriers onto the very busy road. That was too dangerous for us because there is no hard shoulder. So we had to turn back.

Great route. But: knee-high crash barriers at the junction with the main road, which I couldn't overcome with the volume of traffic and my packed bike. There is a narrow path along the crash barrier, which has a gap to the road after about 200m. However, the path is right on the abyss and is only suitable if you have absolute control over the bike and a head for heights

Great scenic cliffside road closed to traffic. It is not necessary to heave the bike over the metal guardrail at the South end. There’s a pullout ~300m South of the end of the road, and it connects by gravel singletrack directly to the old road.
