Hiking

The Terzieterbeek or Sijlerbeek originates in the Bronnetjesbosch, which is located close to the Belgian border in the vicinity of Beusdael Castle and the Bovenste Bosch. It then flows through the hamlets of Terziet and Plaat and then flows into the Geul near the Volmolen van Epen between the Klopdriesscherbeek and the Dorphoflossing. The stream flows through a hilly meadow area and meanders freely through the landscape. The stream is approximately 2.1 kilometers long. It is also fed by various side streams.

Hiking

In its day, Volmolen was part of the Vaals cloth industry. The distance that the sheet metal had to be transported by horse-drawn carriage from Vaals to Epen and back was not an obstacle for the manufacturers.

The location of the mill on the Geul had the advantage that a lot of water was available. In the Vaals area, the refueling facilities were limited.

In French times, the mill was part of Charles de Clermont's cloth factory.
