The valley stretches for a length of about 1.5 km and the slopes are predominantly covered in mixed forests. The dry and semi-dry grassland slopes are sparsely but evenly covered in vegetation. The Wasserwiesenbach stream flows in the valley floor, but is also called the Thuisbrunner Bach.
Limestone cliffs tower high on the sides of the valley and are very popular with climbers. Some of the cliffs are even designated as geotopes and natural monuments: Madonnafelsen (rock tower), Kapuzinerfelsen (rock face), Wächterfelsen (rock tower), Heidenstein or Thuisbrunner Block (rock tower).
